How do I get credit for my purchases?

Shopping with BigCrumbs is extremely easy:

  1. Visit BigCrumbs.com (bookmark us for easy access)
  2. Click on a retailer, product, or special offer link to visit our featured merchants
  3. Make your purchase within the same visit

VERY IMPORTANT! For eBay purchases, you must click through just prior to placing a winning bid or making a Buy It Now commitment. Clicking through later to make payment is neither sufficient nor required to activate your credit with eBay.

Please note that the purchase of gift cards and gift certificates at most retailers (except SpaFinder.com, GiftCertificates.com, and a few others) are not eligible for cash back.

I made a purchase. Where's my credit?

Please keep in mind that eBay purchases may take up to 5 days to credit to your account. Purchases from other retailers may take up to 2 weeks.

If your purchase hasn't appeared on your account within these time frames then, please review your Click-Thru History to be sure you remembered to click through prior to making your purchase.

If all of this checks out, please let us know about your missing credits. We're here to help!

When do I get paid?

We pay monthly, one month in arrears. So, for example, commissions and cash back for purchases made in January will be paid in March. February earnings are paid in April and so on. The month delay allows for returns to be processed.

Payday is on or about the 15th of every month.

How does BigCrumbs pay me?

We pay by Paypal. That means the email address on your BigCrumbs account should be one that is associated with your Paypal account. We will NEVER ask you for your Paypal account information.

Why haven't I been paid?

If your payment is due (as indicated by the above schedule) and you haven't received it, then it's almost 100% certain that the e-mail address on your BigCrumbs account doesn't match your Paypal account.

To see what payments we've sent to you, please view your Payment History report. You'll see the payments we sent, where we sent them, and their statuses.

If a payment is listed as "Unclaimed" there, you can still claim it by associating the e-mail address we sent it to with your Paypal account.

If a payment is listed as "Denied" or "Returned", you'll have to submit a support ticket for us to reissue it.

How do I Redeem Special Offers?

BigCrumbs.com provides our members with thousands of discounts, coupons and other special offers throughout the year, in addition to cash back. These are posted on our Special Offers page.

To ensure that you receive these offers when visiting the merchant's site:

  1. Take note of any coupon code specified by the Special Offer. Not all offers require a code.
  2. Click the "Redeem" button for the Special Offer to visit the merchant's site
  3. When checking out at the merchant's site, enter the Coupon Code in the appropriate field if applicable. For non-code offers, your savings will be applied automatically at checkout.

Do I need to modify my browser or computer settings?

Most people's browsers work fine by default. However, there are a few technical things that can interfere with your credit. It's worth having a look at our Tech Check page to verify that your configuration is compatible with BigCrumbs.

Why do I get a "Page not found" error when clicking on the retailer links?

This is commonly caused by certain "Internet Security" related-software such as Norton Internet Security. These products can be a little "aggressive" and disable our tracking. Our Tech Check page has easy intructions for working around this.

Another common cause is changes to your "HOSTS" file. This is a file on every Windows computer that some programs (such as Kazaa) modify when you install them. These modifications have the unintended side-effect of disabling the servers we use to track purchases.

To fix this, you need to replace your existing HOSTS file with a "clean" copy. Here's how (please perform these steps carefully):

  1. Locate your current HOSTS file, depending on your version, as follows:
    • Windows Vista = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
    • Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
    • Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
    • Win 98/ME = C:\WINDOWS
  2. Make a backup copy of the file (for instance copy it to "HOSTS.BAK")
  3. Download this "clean" version (it's the original copy that ships with Windows).
  4. Rename the file you just downloaded to "HOSTS"
  5. Copy the file you just downloaded and renamed over the existing HOSTS file.
